2012 Peugeot 308 CC

Specifications prices Modifications and Image 2012 Peugeot 308 CC
The new Peugeot 308 comes with a new look, features innovative e-HDi micro-hybrid technology and optimises fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, which start from just 98 g/km.
With its new lines, the Peugeot 308 subtly incorporates the Marque's latest stylistic codes. The car's body follows the contours of the mechanical assembly underneath. The appeal of the three body shapes (Saloon, CC and SW) thus acquires a more technological elegance, illustrated by the presence of LED front lights with light guide. Dynamism and emotion are present as ever in the genes of the 308, particularly with its more assertive look thanks to new Xenon headlamps with titanium coloured mask and the hatchback in its exclusive GTi finish.
Determined to consolidate its leadership in terms of road holding and driving pleasure, the Peugeot 308 seeks to become a reference in terms of environmental efficiency. Indeed, following in the footsteps of the 508, the new Peugeot 308 features innovative e-HDi micro-hybrid technology, the latest generation STOP & START, on the 1.6 litre HDi FAP 112 bhp Euro 5 engine. This offer, on the "entry level" engine, is available with a semi-automatic manual gearbox and, for the first time, with a full manual gearbox, for optimal driveability.

A FLUID AND LUXURIOUS INTERIOR
Stylists worked hard to exploit to the full the interior volumes freed up by the semi-tall architecture of the Peugeot 308. They therefore designed a particularly inclined fascia panel, almost symmetrical to the front windscreen pillars, to offer unimpeded exterior visibility.
In addition, there was a marked determination to give the interior a very upmarket feel and an enhanced sense of perceived quality. The result is a fluid, pure and elegant fascia panel where pride of place is given to superior materials, according to finish: soft covering, leather trim, chrome, black lacquered materials… The care given to the finish and the emphasis on interior comfort are evident in every detail. According to the level in the range, new motifs decorate the door panel strips, panel trim, thumb rests on the steering wheel, etc. Similarly, the special seats on the GTi version have red visible stitching with specific marking on top of the seat back and an aluminium steering wheel ring showing the word “GTi”. Dark-tinted rear windows combined with dark wheel trims (Storm Grey) and the titanium mask of the discharge lamps, give this version a sporty and assertive identity, perfectly in keeping with the dynamic potential of its 1.6 litre THP 200 bhp engine.
Inside the 308 CC, the eye is caught also by the elegance of the 4 seats with integral head restraints and the possibility of full leather trim on the fascia panel, in different shades, which convey a touring car image. This distinctive design makes for even more comfortable seats with an Airwave warm air diffuser behind the necks of the front passengers. The pleasure of open-top driving is thus enhanced.

ELEGANT LINES ENHANCED BY ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
The design of the new Peugeot 308 subtly incorporates the new stylistic codes of the Peugeot Marque. While the dimensions are unchanged, the new lines marry as closely as possible the car's mechanical assembly to accentuate its athletic poise, while the front aspect gives a fresh look to the "floating" front grille concept. Greater importance accorded to unbroken surfaces marks a determination to present an elegant and luxurious style. The central protective capping, available in a black lacquer finish, has been made thinner to give greater prominence to the sheer metal. This is also true of the single air intake which is now smaller in size.
Styling elements enhance the natural elegance which emanates from the new 308. A satin chrome bead enhances the new front grille, as do horizontal bars, available in lustrous black or chrome according to body shape (saloon, CC or SW).
The bottom section of the lower front panel, which helps visually to broaden the car and "plant" it on the road, incorporates new dual-function lights (daytime and sidelights) shaped like a boomerang, available according to versions. With their meticulous finish, they blend perfectly and are harmoniously positioned on the upper surround of the fog light housing. Composed of variable intensity LEDs and a light guide, they guarantee a unique visual signature by day and by night while illustrating the high level of technology featured on the new 308.
In the upper section, the V-shaped nose of the bonnet is one of the main expressive features of the Peugeot 308. It has been redesigned to fit the car's mechanical assembly as closely as possible and provides a new link with the floating front grille, in line with Peugeot's new stylistic codes. The Marque badge, in its new dual material construction, is proudly positioned at the tip of the bonnet on a new black lacquer base set with a chrome bead, also in the shape of a V.
The outline of this nose, fluid and characteristic, is more curvaceous, particularly at the junction of the lights and the bonnet. The new smooth glass front headlamps, closely fitting the three cylinders, suggest a look that is both refined and assertive. And when the 308 is equipped with dynamic bi-directional Xenon headlamps complete with titanium coloured base, this look becomes even more profound, displaying all the strength of character of the new 308.

The 2012 Peugeot 308 seeks to become a reference in terms of environmental efficiency.
At launch four petrol and four diesel engines will be available.
4 Euro 5 petrol engines:
  • 1.4 litre VTi 98 bhp with 5-speed manual gearbox;
  • 1.6 litre VTi 120 bhp with 5-speed manual gearbox or automatic gearbox;
  • 1.6 litre THP 156 bhp with 6-speed manual gearbox or automatic gearbox;
  • 1.6 litre THP 200 bhp with 6-speed manual gearbox (exclusive to GTi version).
4 Euro 5 diesel engines:

HIGH LEVEL SAFETY ON AL CO UNTS
Whether in terms of primary, secondary or tertiary safety, the new 308 is positioned at the highest level.
Firstly, the excellent rigidity of the structure ensures optimal operation of the wheels and suspension ensuring a high level of primary safety. In terms of secondary safety, the structure itself has been rigorously designed to withstand even the most severe impact, thanks in particular to a triple force channel at the front. The use of high-strength steel and "multilayer" reinforcements in specific areas has made it possible to raise the level of safety of occupants while reducing the overall weight of the car. In addition to the performance of the structure, efficient means of restraint are proposed:
  • up to 8 air bags on the saloon and SW;
  • up to 6 air bags on the CC, including 2 head air bags at the front;
  • extractible safety hoops on the CC in the event of rollover;
  • 3-point seat belts with belt not fastened or unfastened acoustic warnings;
  • Isofix fixtures.
Lastly, with regard to tertiary safety, the new Peugeot 308 benefits from Peugeot Connect services. Occupants are put through to an assistance helpline when an emergency call is made (Peugeot Connect SOS) or a breakdown service in the case of a mechanical incident (Peugeot Connect Assistance). These services are available via a Peugeot Connect unit or with the top-of-the-range WIP Com 3D telematics offer. source:www.netcarshow.com

2012 Peugeot SXC

Specifications prices Modifications and Image  2012 Peugeot SXC
It seems that Peugeot has caught itself a little SUV concept bug over the past few months. If you recall, the French automaker unveiled the HR1 last September at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Now it looks like they’ve got another concept SUV in the works, one that’s scheduled to debut at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month.
Called the SXC Concept, the hybrid crossover concept is being touted as a China-exclusive model, which is probably the reason why it’s debuting at the Shanghai Motor Show.
Concept: reinterpretation of the Crossover
In 2010, Peugeot unveiled an evolution in its stylistic codes through various concept cars: the SR1 (grand tourisme roadster), the BB1 (city car, 2.50 m long, for 4 people), the EX1 (two-seater roadster, 100% electric, which beat the homologated acceleration records in France and in China) and the HR1 (exclusive, innovative and hyper-connected city car). At the Shanghai Motor Show, the Marque's stylists express themselves in another category, which is becoming increasingly popular in the Chinese market, that of the Crossover. So, with the Peugeot SXC Concept (which stands for Shanghai Cross Concept), this theme is revisited: this concept car adopts certain characteristics from the world of the SUV (strength, high driving position, protection, etc.), without caricaturing them, inspired by the modern styles, elegant and refined, close to the upmarket world of the saloons. It was Peugeot's international style teams based at the China Tech Center in Shanghai who designed the vehicle. As a result, Peugeot asserts the vision of a style that is strong and recognisable, and that is able to adapt to different body types, as well as to the different expectations of the markets.

A strong Style, both statuesque and refined
The SXC is a vehicle with a strong, asserted character, its style expressing strength and power, without ostentation, through lines both simple and refined, elegant and fluid, which subtly emphasise the athletic, even muscular, character of the vehicle. Each detail is precisely sculpted on a body of impressive size (with a length of 4.870 m, a height of 1.610 m and a width of 2.035 m).
At the front, the SXC bears the ‘stylistic codes’ of Peugeot. The theme of the unique “floating” grille, which appears to be independent from the bodywork, fits harmoniously with its stature. The feline headlamps, precisely chiselled, give it a piercing gaze echoing the Marque’s emblem, the lion, proudly affixed on the front of the bonnet. This gaze is emphasised by a luminous LED signature, recognisable both by day and night. This visual signature returns with the rear lamps, the boomerang shape of which accompanies the movement of the rear, which has been designed with particular care.
Other “High Tech” details have been studied with great attention, in the same way as the tapered mirrors housing rear view cameras.
The roof bars, of very original design, the border of the side glazed surface,… numerous components are made of brushed aluminium, a light material, dignified and upmarket, which subtly enhances the exclusive nature of the vehicle.
Its wheel rims, of generous dimensions (22″), the design of which suggests refinement and strength, also contribute to the general balance of the vehicle.
Finally, the very protective style of the vehicle, its generous volumes, it two-part panoramic roof, its accessibility through reverse-hinged doors, … promise a particularly vast passenger compartment in which each of its 4 passengers will benefit from all the attention they desire.

Driving sensations
One of Peugeot's priorities is to continue its environmental leadership in the years to come. This concept car incorporates the HYbrid4 technology: with an internal combustion engine at the front (which drives the front wheels) and an electric motor at the rear (driving the rear wheels), this technology permits all 4 wheels to be driving wheels when the engine and motor are operating at the same time, benefiting safety and grip in extreme conditions. It also permits driving, at low speeds, in "zero emissions" mode with the electric motor only.
Under the bonnet, the internal combustion engine is a 1.6 l THP delivering 160 kW (218 bhp): continuing its downsizing strategy, the PSA Group uses the most advanced technology to manufacture small capacity engines combining a high level of performance and environmental efficiency.
Coupled with an electric motor of 70 kW (95 bhp), the combined potential is 230 kW (313 bhp) with a combined fuel consumption of only 5.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 143 g/km.
The efficiency of this drive train, coupled with the acknowledged expertise of the Marque in terms of road holding, allows the Peugeot SXC Concept to combine the emotion of real driving pleasure with the pursuit of excellence for a high level of environmental efficiency… promising its driver a unique driving experience.

Details are still minimal at this point, but it looks like the SXC Concept was created using the same styling cues and language found in a number of Peugeot’s other concepts, specifically the HR1. From what we’ve gathered, it looks like the SXC will measure 4.870 x 2.035 x 1.610 meters, big dimensions for a crossover. On top of that, there have been spy photos of the car that features a ’floating’ grille, sharp headlights similar to the HR1, boomerang-style taillights, and rounded off by a set of 22" wide alloy wheels
As for the powertrain, the car is being touted as having a 1.6-liter THP engine that produces 218 horsepower with an electric motor that adds another 95 horsepower for a total of 313 horsepower.
All these details are still subject to speculation until the car is officially unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long for that to happen.

2012 Peugeot 308 SW

Specifications prices Modifications and Image 2012 Peugeot 308 SW
The new Peugeot 308 comes with a new look, features innovative e-HDi micro-hybrid technology and optimises fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, which start from just 98 g/km.
With its new lines, the Peugeot 308 subtly incorporates the Marque's latest stylistic codes. The car's body follows the contours of the mechanical assembly underneath. The appeal of the three body shapes (Saloon, CC and SW) thus acquires a more technological elegance, illustrated by the presence of LED front lights with light guide.
 INTERIOR

And when the 308 is equipped with dynamic bi-directional Xenon headlamps complete with titanium coloured base, this look becomes even more profound, displaying all the strength of character of the new 308.
The dynamism of the front aspect is echoed on the sides of the car. A styling line, running from the front wheel arches, crosses the side of the body and the rear lights before dropping towards the lower rear panel and coming to an end in the lower section.
The fluidity of the style is enhanced by the lateral glazed surface which follows a plunging waistline, and also by the panoramic rear window, which overlaps the rear quarter panel pillars.
Lastly, to establish the general appearance of the Peugeot 308, a lower waistline starting from the lower front panel extends as far as the rear bumper. The car therefore seems well poised on the road, ready to exploit its dynamic qualities to the full . New diamanté effect 16 or 17 inch alloy wheels or Storm Grey 18 inch wheels for the GTi version underline this dynamic appeal. The sense of dynamism is enhanced further by the car’s rear style.
On the saloon, the wraparound lower rear panel adds a note of robustness and perceived quality as well as a sporty touch thanks to the presence of a styling element in the shape of a spoiler and two inserts, which can have a chrome finish, suggesting exhaust nozzles. The new Lion takes its place in the centre of the tailgate, while a satin chrome bead emphasizes the horizontal waistline, bringing a new balance to the rear of the 308.
On the SW, the contours of the robust lower panel and the rear lights have been designed to allow a wide boot aperture. The low load sill resulting from this design promises easy loading and a large internal capacity. From an aesthetic point of view, a horizontal waistline runs around the rear tailgate in its central section to “stretch” the car. This sensation is amplified by the body-coloured number plate insert surmounted by the new Lion badge.
On the CC the strength of the rear style is repeated, with a sense of horizontality given to the rear aspect that reinforces the impression of width. Numerous details add to this overall effect: the concave movement crossing the tailgate under the spoiler, the chrome bead framing the number plate and the presence of an air diffuser in the lower section. On either side and extending over the wings, the ruby-coloured LED rear lights with light curtain effect broaden the silhouette and give the 308 CC a unique and spectacular visual signature.

e-HDi MICRO-HYBRID TECHNOLOGY
After the 508, the new Peugeot 308 is the second of the Marque's cars to introduce the innovative e-HDi micro-hybrid technology, a new generation STOP & START.
This innovation is based on the combination of a 1.6 litre HDi Euro 5 diesel engine and a reversible alternator ensuring the STOP & START function. Relying on an alternator control system (Volt Control) to recover energy during deceleration and a hybrid battery to store and deliver additional energy on startup (e-booster), the HDi unit allows:
  • a 15% reduction in fuel consumption in urban traffic;
  • a 5 g/km reduction in CO2 emissions for approved cycle fuel consumption;
  • activation of engine cut-out from 20 km/h with a manual gearbox (8 km/h for the electronicallycontrolled gearbox);
  • increased driveability of the STOP & START (silent operation, no vibrations).
The second-generation reversible alternator used here has a power of 2.2 kW and allows up to 600,000 restarts. However the STOP & START function can be de-activated by the driver if preferred by means of a button on the fascia panel.
1.6 LITRE e-HDI FA P 112 BHP ENGINE
To deploy this technology on a large scale, the new Peugeot 308 proposes e-HDi technology with a "basic" engine, the 1.6 litre HDi FAP 112 bhp, which can be coupled with two gearboxes (manual or electronicallycontrolled). This is a first, since hitherto e-HDi technology was available only with the BVMP6 electronically-controlled gearbox. This new offer maximises driving enjoyment by increasing the phases of driving "in silence". When coupled with a manual gearbox, engine cut-out is possible from a speed of 20 km/h.

  • up to 8 air bags on the saloon and SW;
  • up to 6 air bags on the CC, including 2 head air bags at the front;
  • extractible safety hoops on the CC in the event of rollover;
  • 3-point seat belts with belt not fastened or unfastened acoustic warnings;

2012 Peugeot 408

 Specifications prices Modifications and Image 2012 Peugeot 408
A decisive step in the Lion’s offensive on the world’s foremost automobile market. Presented today, as a world premier on the Chinese market, to around 300 Chinese journalists and more than 700 network representatives by Jean-Marc Gales the Marque’s Managing Director, the new Peugeot 408 marks a further step in the Marque’s offensive on the world’s foremost automobile market.
Despite being present on the Chinese market for 5 years only, the Peugeot Marque sold over 410 000 vehicles in 2009. This corresponds to a 44% sales increase compared with its 2008 performance.
Following its fine performance in the M1 segment with the success of the 307 saloon and the 307 notch-back, of which 3,522,800 have been produced worldwide, Peugeot is now quite legitimately embarking on a Chinese market offensive with its new 408 DF Peugeot.
This new prestigious notchback tailored for the Chinese market will serve to reinforce Dong Feng Peugeot’s product offer on the M1 segment that accounts for over 45 % of the total market.
In this manner, the new Peugeot DF 408 should enable the Lion Marque to increase its sales volumes by over 30% in 2010, compared with 2009, and thereby to grow at twice the forecast pace of the market.
The 408 thus highlights the aspects that give this new saloon a distinctive character. With a modern offer aimed at satisfying the requirements of this segment's consumers, Peugeot's ambition is to set new standards on the market, with:
A harmonious, appealing style, combination of dynamism and prestige.
Excellent interior comfort.
A high quality image.
Improved driving pleasure and comfort.
Latest generation equipment.
A very high level of safety.
The 408 is the first vehicle on the roads in Brazil to display the new Lion logo, whose more dynamic and pure shape enhances and strengthens the Peugeot brand identity.

The 408 saloon’s architecture has been designed and developed jointly by Peugeot's Styling teams in Europe and China and meets three key objectives to embody the Marque's latest style, guarantee maximum safety and offer unrivalled interior space.
The 408 name follows the Marque's traditional naming logic. The figure 4 refers to the size of the car (4.68 m) and its positioning in the medium-luxury family saloon segment. The 0 in the middle signifies that it belongs to the Peugeot Marque, while the 8 expresses the vehicle generation.
With this name, the 408 naturally falls into place within the current Peugeot range and becomes the forerunner of the 8 series, the latest generation vehicles to be launched on the Chinese market.
The Dong Feng Peugeot 408 is the result of the joint venture set up between PSA Peugeot Citroën and the Chinese group DFM. The car is being produced at the Wuhan plant in Hubei province in China. It is positioned to become one of the market's benchmark vehicles with a full-year sales objective of 100,000 units.

The 408 is a notchback of generous dimensions. With its half-height architecture that gives a strong sensation of space, it is 4.69 m long and 1.815 m wide, with a 2.81m wheelbase.
Those in the front enjoy a high quality, dynamic environment, adding to the driving pleasure, while rear passengers have a very luminous, comfortable and extremely spacious compartment.
The large boot, with pantographic opening and excellent access to the interior, has a load space of 526 litres, one of the largest in the segment.

The 408 is a latest generation vehicle that incorporates all Peugeot's expertise in terms of dynamic driving behaviour and safety.
Its rigid structure, together with the passenger restraints (up to six airbags) and equipment such as ESP and ABS as standard for emergency braking assistance and electronic brake force distribution (EBDF), guarantee an exemplary level of safety.
The quality of the chassis which, inter alia, gives it great structural rigidity, ensures an excellent performance from the running gear, for safe, precise, comfortable road-holding. Indeed, great attention has been paid to all aspects concerning on-board comfort: suspension, acoustic filtering, thermal regulation and seat quality.
All these elements combined ensure an incomparable driving experience, worthy of the Peugeot DNA. As always, driving pleasure is a priority for the Lion Marque.

The Peugeot 508 RXH represents the new, up market positioned Peugeot. It sees the launch of an identity that combines the traditional designation of Peugeot models, incorporating the central zero, and three letters that characterise the Marques specialist vehicles. This new model both heads up and extends the 508 range, with an original design silhouette, justifying its exclusive designation - RXH.
A distinctive appeal
The Peugeot 508 RXH styling has its own distinctive character within the 508 range. Its elegance and style place it immediately in an exclusive world that combines premium-positioning, technology with the ability to experience adventure and promises of a new and unparalleled driving experience.
With a 40 mm wider track and its height increased by 50 mm, this new Peugeot has an individual stance, without sacrificing the characteristics of the 508 range - poise, elegance and status. The use of new, 18" forged wheel rims allowed designers to create a very fine wheel design with an internal diameter increased by 10 mm in comparison with conventional wheel rims. The result is a dynamic and elegantly enhanced body style.
Its adventurous side profile is illustrated through the bodywork extensions in satin stealth grey that envelope the lower body of the car. From the bottom of the front bumper, the line extends over the wheel arches, along the sill panels to meet the rear bumper. The choice of the satin trim finishers contribute to position this estate car within a refined world, as do the satin chrome inserts, with 'HYbrid4' badging, that adorns the sill panel, and front and rear protective trims. Fully integrated, they reflect the integrity applied to the cohesive design of the Peugeot 508 RXH.

Refined interior styling and technology
The styling of the dashboard is centred heavily around the qualities evoked by the exterior design of the vehicle, with continued illustrations of high quality, purity, elegance, etc. Its design supports a multiplex centre console with switchgear that is equipped with technology designed to provide easy control to a host of features.
This purity and simplicity of design and integration is best demonstrated on the HYbrid4 drive mode selection knob and the gear selector lever. It has the design that combines the traditional gear selector lever and a computer mouse called the 'manettino' - it fits perfectly into this pure and technological environment.
White backlighting is available throughout the Peugeot 508 RXH interior (on the instrument panel, displays and the various lighting zones within the car), showing great care in detail and finish. It is this and the attention to detail that illustrates the hallmarks of the latest Peugeot range.
The car's internal trim and decor have been created in harmony, evoking elegance without ostentation. The use of natural materials and colours, sometimes exclusively, enhance the distinctive character of the 508 RXH. Brushed aluminium and shaded lacquers are used on the dashboard for the first time in this way. A spectacular treatment in keeping with the electricity supplied by HYbrid4 technology, this decor is specified in tinted shades of copper. This theme, again unprecedented, is subtly continued throughout the interior with matching trim stitching in this copper shade. The exterior is also themed with a copper colour theme through the colouring of the lock tumblers in Calern Brown, a shade exclusive to the Peugeot 508 RXH.
The choice of light-coloured alcantara leather and an innovative laser-printed fabric creates a two-tone upholstery that reinforces the refined image of the car. Depending on preference, the customer may opt for full leather or half-leather upholstery.
 EXTERIOR
After the launch of the 508 Saloon and SW in spring 2011, acclaimed for its styling elegance, its presence and its high-level build-quality and attention to detail, the 508 RXH again raises the profile of the entire Peugeot brand reinforcing its technological and environmental lead.

Its posture and its specific design immediately place it in the world of top-of-the-range all road vehicles. Unique, refined, raised, widened, it is also distinguished by a singular visual signature, with its distinctive LED lights visible both at day and night, giving an impression of three vertical ‘lions’ claws on each side of its ‘floating’ grille, the style of which is even more striking.
ENGINE
Equipped with the 2.0 l HDi FAP HYbrid4 drive train, a world first when featured in the 3008 Hybrid4, the diesel-electric hybrid drive unit in the 508 RXH extends driving pleasure and freedom to travel anywhere on all roads. With a maximum power of 147 kW (200 bhp), four-wheel drive and a maximum torque of 450 Nm, the 508 RXH has been designed to adapt to all uses, in a spectrum of (all) conditions. Furthermore, it opens up new perspectives in the segment, offering a ZEV 100% electric mode, ideal for driving in town and for reducing consumption in the Combined Cycle to less than 4.2 l/100 km (70.6 mpg), with emissions of 109 g/km of CO2.
Benchmark for road handling
The suspension and wheel design also contribute to onboard comfort: with a Pseudo-McPherson type front axle and specific HYbrid4 technology, modular multi-arm rear axle. While cleverly incorporating the hybrid architecture and taking into account a new weight distribution, the Peugeot engineers have retained the recognised dynamic characteristics of the 508 range with an excellent synthesis of suspension comfort, light steering and good handling. The Peugeot 508 RXH is one of the latest generation of vehicles that expresses driving pleasure, due to its Peugeot chassis 'genetics' and full diesel hybrid technology. source:www.netcarshow.com,www.zulva.com

2011 Saturn Outlook

The family friendly Saturn Outlook crossover provides the capability of an SUV with car-like style, efficiency and driving feel. For 2009, Outlook – which accommodates up to eight and their gear – gets a sophisticated new V-6 engine that provides more power without compromising fuel economy.
The popular crossover includes many enhancements for 2009, including an interim model year increase in maximum towing capacity from 4,500 pounds (2045 kg) to 5,200 pounds (2364 kg).** Others include standard leather seating on the uplevel XR model and, for the first time, available leather seating on XE. Cabin comfort and convenience enhancements include OnStar with Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity and a choice of two available Bose audio systems: the Bose 5.1 Cabin Surround system with DVD, or a non-surround Bose audio system.
The Outlook is available in two models, XE and XR, and in both front-wheel- and all-wheel-drive configurations.
 INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR
The Outlook's cabin is both functional and pleasing to the eye. The faux wood in XR models is convincing enough, and the overall quality of interior materials is impressive. However, many of the buttons on the dashboard are a bit too small and similar-looking, making them hard to find and operate.
The first- and second-row seats are comfortable and can easily fit children or adults. The third row might not feel as roomy as a minivan, but it still offers more space than the average crossover SUV. Access to rear seating is easy thanks to the second row's "Smart Slide" feature, which flips the cushions up as the seatback slides forward, creating a wide path of entry. Cargo capacity is 24 cubic feet with all seats up, and a class-leading 117 cubic feet with all rear seats down.

The 2009 Saturn Outlook is a large crossover SUV with seating for up to eight passengers. There are two trim lines: XE and XR. The base XE features 18-inch wheels, full power accessories, heated exterior mirrors, cruise control, air-conditioning with rear controls, OnStar, an MP3/CD player and satellite radio. The XR adds roof rails, foglights, variable-effort power steering, a power driver seat, leather seating, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with remote audio controls, wood-grain interior trim, dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and Bluetooth.

Options, depending on the trim level, include xenon headlights, a dual-pane sunroof, a power liftgate, remote engine start, rear parking sensors, premium audio systems, a rear DVD entertainment system and a navigation system with a back-up camera and real-time traffic updates. Other options include front seat heaters, a power passenger seat and driver memory positioning. If you order second-row captain's chairs, seating capacity drops to seven but you gain an optional center console between the seats. In addition, many of the XR's standard features can be added to the base model. A variety of wheel choices and sizes are also available, including optional 20-inch wheels on XR trims.

ENGINE
2011 Saturn Outlooks are available with a new direct injection 3.6-liter DOHC V-6 engine with variable valve timing. ConsumerGuide proclaims acceleration is "surprisingly strong for a large, heavy vehicle with a V-6 engine," and they note the 2009 Saturn Outlook is "particularly impressive in highway merging and passing." Motor Trend observes that the V-6 "pours respectable torque on any acceleration occasion," while Kelley Blue Book feels that "the 2011 Saturn Outlook ranks among the most satisfying" crossovers they've ever driven. In terms of acceleration, Car and Driver advises drivers to "expect the trip to 60 mph to take about eight seconds."
Other reviewers point out that the 2011 Saturn Outlook is fit for towing, and Edmunds states that when "properly equipped, the Outlook is capable of towing up to 5,200 pounds." The new V-6 outputs 281 horsepower with 253 pound-feet of torque in XE models and 288 horsepower with 270 pound-feet of torque in XR models, an increase over last year’s "3.6-liter V-6 rated at 270 hp and 248 pound-feet of torque" on the Saturn Outlook XE, while "the XR model's dual rear exhaust boosts those numbers to 275 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque,

 SAFETY
The 2009 Saturn Outlook scores incredibly well in crash tests, and it offers some tantalizing safety features—important factors for a vehicle geared toward families who rate safety at the top of their lists when considering the purchase of a new vehicle.
In both driver- and passenger-side front-impact tests, the 2009 Saturn Outlook scored a perfect five-star rating from the federal government. In addition to the impeccable front impact ratings, the Saturn Outlook also earned a perfect five-star rating in both side impact tests conducted by NHTSA. The only category where the Saturn Outlook didn't earn a perfect score was in rollover protection, where the Saturn Outlook received four out of five stars. From the IIHS, the Outlook garnered a top "good" rating in both the side-impact and seat-based rear-impact tests.
For such a large vehicle, the 2009 Saturn Outlook offers impressive visibility, with the notable exception of parking maneuvers. ConsumerGuide says that the Saturn Outlook offers "fine outward visibility thanks to big mirrors and unobtrusive rear headrests," and Cars.com adds, "rear visibility is fair, especially if the third row's head restraints are folded forward." Though the view directly to the back is a bit compromised, the Saturn Outlook makes up for that with "sonar rear parking." Then again, Cars.com points out that the sonar "pales in comparison to a rearview camera, which some competitors offer."

Driving Impressions

While the 2009 Saturn Outlook doesn't have the sporty character of, say, the Mazda CX-9, it's easy and pleasant to drive, especially considering the vehicle's size and hefty 4,700-pound curb weight. The ride quality is smooth and forgiving without being overly soft. And although the fuel economy-minded six-speed automatic transmission can be sluggish with downshifts, the new V6's additional power should be enough to pull the Outlook through during demanding driving.

2011 Saleen S281

The American tuner Steve Saleen has a very hard time keeping his hands off of Ford Mustangs. Somehow whatever Mr. Saleen touches ends up not only looking better, but also has a lot more horsepower, goes faster and handles better as well. Saleen’s bread and butter for the past decade has been modifying Ford’s 4.6 Liter modular V8 powered Mustangs and transforming them into special edition individually numbered Saleen S281s. It looks like the red, white and blue tuner is getting back into the swing of things after reopening their doors as Saleen Performance Vehicles with the upcoming debut of the 2010 S281 Ford Mustang at the SEMA show this November.
The interior features new, leather sport seats with Ultra-Suede inserts, highlighted by chevron-like Ultra-Suede red tabs in the seatback bolsters, and unique treatments of the gauges, steering wheel, center console and shifter. There also are contrasting Saleen logos in the door panels, and Saleen logos in the door sill plates that illuminate when the door is opened.

Additional exterior highlights include unique, 20-inch, 7-spoke alloy wheels with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso high-performance tires, and Saleen S281 Supercharged fender badging.
The S281′s exterior design features carefully crafted sculptural detailing, with lines and forms that flow naturally and suggest suppleness, power and agility. It features an understated yet imposing grille and front fascia, and a refined treatment of the familiar Saleen extended rear fascia and trunk lid with a simple, elegant, integrated wing.

“Our goal was to create the most visually enticing American sports car ever,” said David Byron, design director at Saleen Performance Vehicles. “Ford provided the perfect launching pad with the 2010 Mustang, which allowed our team to create a car that’s world class and authentically Saleen. We painstakingly toiled over every bend and break in the body and every stitch and fold in the interior.”
Saleen isn’t releasing too much information about the new turn key tuner car, only releasing a few of these teaser images. However we have seen what Steve can do when he puts his mind to it, like the more recent 2010 Signature Series SMS 460 Mustang that made as much as 650 HP depending on the owners wishes and the more mundane Saleen 435S that made 435 HP, both based on the 2010 pony car from the blue oval. If those cars are any indication of what Saleen’s plan is for the new 281 cubic inch Mustang, then the new S281 will feature a few aerodynamically designed body parts, a set of lightweight wheels to go along with a high performance lowered suspension and of course no Saleen muscle car would be complete without a supercharger under the hood. Saleen needs to move as many of these 281 cubic inch hot rods before Ford introduces the new 5.0 Liter Coyote V8 and they have to buy a whole new inventory of S302 stickers.

2011 MG TF LE500

Specifications prices Modifications and Image 2011 MG TF LE500
With deliveries of the new MG TF Limited Edition due to commence in September, NAC MG UK Ltd have today, 2nd July 2008, set the price of this new sportscar at £16,399 on the road.
Sales and Marketing Director for NAC MG UK Ltd, Gary Hagen, said; “We are delighted to be able to bring in such a highly specified car at such a reasonable price. When you consider the level of specification that comes with the LE500, the package is extremely competitive.”
A new look, upgraded engine and a host of design refinements and extras have brought the MG bang up to date. A body coloured hardtop, sports styled leather seats and a piano black interior give the car a stylish new look.
 INTERIOR
As you sit in the car the environment exudes quality. The piano black trim, leather upholstery and chrome detail give the cabin a retro feel. MG has worked hard to maintain levels of comfort and finish that will make the new MG appeal to the widest spectrum of drivers.
As you recline in the leather sports seats the wheel and controls sit easily at hand and the redesigned instruments add to the overall feel that you are sitting in an authentic British Sports car. The previously analogue instrument pack has been replaced with an electronic control pack, giving the car more functionality and a great look.
Between the seats is the unique 500 LE badging, a detail that completes a highly specified, exclusive but most of all fundamentally MG interior.
 EXTERIOR
As you approach the car, the difference in styling is immediately obvious with a new look for the grille and bumper. The reshaping is designed to be more sympathetic to the overall look of the TF with more finesse and shape than its predecessor.
The MG TF LE500 comes in a range of six new colours with a body colour matched hard top as standard. The hard top benefits from a glass rear window which means winter motoring is much more comfortable, whilst maintaining the flexibility of enjoying the soft top in summer.
 ENGINE
The only mid-engined sports car in its class, the LE 500 is engineered to deliver a thoroughbred British sports car driving experience. So it comes equipped with a new Variable Valve Control N series engine. This EU4 compliant 1.8 litre 135 ps power pack will push the MG LE500 from 0-60 in 8.3 seconds and give it a top speed of 127mph//205km/h.
The N series engine has a newly designed multi layered steel cylinder head gasket and an upgraded oil rail, that allows an increase in the clamping load, and an enhanced cooling system; all improvements that result in a much more robust engine.
 Sales and Marketing Director for NAC MG UK Ltd, Gary Hagen, said; "We are delighted to be able to bring in such a highly specified car at such a reasonable price. When you consider the level of specification that comes with the LE500, the package is extremely competitive."

A new look, upgraded engine and a host of design refinements and extras have brought the MG bang up to date. A body coloured hardtop, sports styled leather seats and a piano black interior give the car a stylish new look.

The mid car configuration for the 1.8 16v EU4 compliant 136ps engine combines with rear wheel drive to ensure the LE500 delivers an authentic British sportscar driving experience. Parking sensors, a Pioneer MP3 compatible CD / radio unit and last but not least unique LE500 badging, graphics & trim complete the package. Full details of the specification are available at www.mg-uk.co.uk.

Gary concluded; "The backing of SAIC, China's largest car maker, and the fact the LE 500 has been designed, engineered and is being built in the UK, will play a major role in the car's success.

"When it was last available, the MG was the UK's best selling small sports car. We are confident that the indicated demand for the return of the marque from dealers, enthusiasts and most importantly new customers will see it reclaim that position". source:www.netcarshow.com,www.rsportscars.com
